A complete tour of LLMsArchive — from adding your site to understanding every score and improvement.

Getting Started

Adding your website

The first step: enter your business URL to kick off the process.

  1. 1Go to /add or click "Add site" in the navigation.
  2. 2Enter your business URL. The system validates it automatically — it checks accessibility and normalises the format (adds https:// if missing).
  3. 3If the URL is already registered in LLMsArchive you will see an orange warning — you cannot register the same domain twice.
  4. 4Accept the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy by checking the checkbox.
  5. 5Click "Continue to payment". If you are not logged in, you will be redirected to sign in and returned automatically.
  6. 6Complete the monthly payment on Stripe. Once confirmed, you will be redirected to the onboarding flow.

Site is reachable

Each registered URL is an independent site with its own score and files. You can have multiple sites on the same account.

Getting Started

The automatic crawl

After payment, LLMsArchive analyses your website to extract real context.

  1. 1Immediately after payment is confirmed, the system launches a crawl of your website in the background.
  2. 2The crawler extracts: title, description, main content, internal links, and existing <head> tags (meta tags, JSON-LD schemas).
  3. 3It also detects whether your site uses HTTPS, if any AI files are already published (llms.txt, etc.), and the main language.
  4. 4This process usually takes under 30 seconds for small sites, and up to 2 minutes for larger ones.
  5. 5The crawl data feeds directly into the onboarding form — fields will be pre-filled with the detected information.

The crawler respects your robots.txt. If your site blocks crawlers, some information will not be available — you can fill it in manually during onboarding.

Onboarding

Business information form

Fill in or adjust the automatically detected details about your business.

  1. 1The onboarding form appears after payment, at /onboarding/[siteId].
  2. 2The main fields are: business name, description, category, main services, and target audience.
  3. 3Most fields will be pre-filled with data extracted during the crawl. Review them and adjust anything incorrect.
  4. 4Be precise and specific — the better you describe your business, the better the generated AI files will be.
  5. 5You can return to edit this information later from the Dashboard if your business changes.
  6. 6When you are happy with the data, click "Generate AI proposal".

The AI-generated proposal

Review and approve the AI files the system generated for your business.

  1. 1After submitting the form, the AI generates the 4 structured files for your business within seconds.
  2. 2llms.txt — a markdown summary of your company: what it does, who it serves, and how it differentiates.
  3. 3ai-profile.json — your business profile in structured JSON: name, type, description, contact info, social networks.
  4. 4knowledge.json — a knowledge base with FAQs, processes, and technical context about your business.
  5. 5services.json — a detailed catalogue of your products and services with prices, features, and target audiences.
  6. 6Review each file. If something is not right, you can edit the form and regenerate the proposal.
  7. 7When the files look correct, click "Approve proposal" to continue.

Once the proposal is approved, the files are ready to download from the Dashboard. The proposal is not published automatically — you decide when to upload it to your server. If you'd prefer we handle it, see our Setup Service plans.

Verification

Why verify your domain

Verification confirms you own the site and unlocks advanced features.

  1. 1Verification confirms that you have real control over the domain you registered.
  2. 2Without verification: no AI visibility checks are run and your site is not publicly visible in our directory or API.
  3. 3Verified: AI checks run automatically, your site appears in our public listings and API, and you get the verified domain badge on your public profile.
  4. 4Verification is a one-time process — once complete it persists as long as the account is active.

Want us to handle verification as part of setup? See our Setup Service plans.

Verification

How to verify: meta tag and DNS TXT

Two methods available — choose the one that best suits your platform.

  1. 1In the Dashboard, click "Verify" on your site card to open the verification modal.
  2. 2Option 1 — HTML meta tag: copy the provided meta tag and paste it inside the <head> of your domain's homepage. Then click "Verify now".
  3. 3Option 2 — DNS TXT record: add the TXT record in your domain's DNS settings (at your registrar or host). DNS propagation can take up to 24 h.
  4. 4LLMsArchive automatically checks for the presence of the meta tag or DNS record when you click "Verify now".
  5. 5If verification fails, make sure the tag/record is correctly published and wait a few minutes before retrying.

Option 1 — HTML meta tag

<meta name="llmsarchive-verify" content="abc123xyz" />

Add inside <head> of your homepage

Option 2 — DNS TXT record

TXT @ llmsarchive=abc123xyz

Add in your domain's DNS management

If you use Cloudflare or another proxy, make sure the meta tag is in the actual HTML served to the crawler, not just in your local source code.

Dashboard

Dashboard overview

Understand what each part of your control panel shows.

  1. 1The Dashboard (/dashboard) lists all your registered sites, one per card.
  2. 2Each card shows: site URL, active plan, status (active, pending, onboarding), current AI score, and status of each AI file.
  3. 3The file indicators (✓/✗) show whether each file is published and accessible on your server.
  4. 4The "Download files" button downloads a ZIP with all 4 files ready to upload to your server.
  5. 5The "Check visibility" button launches a new AI visibility check — one is included per month on the Basic plan.
  6. 6The "Improvement Plan", "Schemas", and "Meta Tags" sections show site-specific recommendations.

AI Score

LLM Visibility Score (0–100)

Measures how often and how prominently AI language models mention your site across different query categories.

  1. 1The LLM Visibility Score (0–100) tracks how much language models actually mention your business when answering relevant queries.
  2. 2Our crawlers query multiple LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity…) across dozens of prompts in your industry and measure mention frequency.
  3. 3Score = average of mention rates across all query categories, scaled to 0–100. A score of 0 means the models never mention you; 100 means every query returns a mention.
  4. 4A score ≥ 70 indicates strong visibility: the models are aware of your brand and cite it regularly.
  5. 5Between 40–69: partial visibility — you appear in some categories but not others.
  6. 6Below 40: low visibility — focus on publishing and optimising your AI files first.
  7. 7The score updates automatically after each visibility check run. Changes to your files only take effect after a new check.
62/100

LLM Visibility Score

A high LLM Visibility Score does not guarantee placement in every query — it reflects your current presence across LLM training data and real-time retrieval.

AI Score

LLM mention categories explained

Visibility checks run across four query layers. Each layer measures a different way AI models reference your business.

  1. 1Entity recognition: does the model know your brand exists? Queries like "What is [YourBrand]?" — high-confidence mentions score highest here.
  2. 2Contextual relevance: does the model mention you when answering industry or topic questions? E.g. "What tools exist for X in [your sector]?"
  3. 3Recommendation: does the model recommend you when asked? E.g. "What's the best option for Y?" — the most commercially valuable category.
  4. 4Comparison: does the model include you when comparing alternatives? E.g. "Compare A, B, and C in the [sector] space."
  5. 5Each category is scored independently and averaged into the final LLM Visibility Score.
  6. 6The breakdown per category is visible in the individual LLM logs — expand any LLM result in the visibility check to see how it scored across each layer.

Setup Score: technical readiness badge

A separate badge in the Dashboard measuring your site's technical configuration — independent of LLM mentions.

  1. 1The Setup Score (0–100) measures technical readiness — it is shown as a separate badge in your site card alongside the LLM Visibility Score.
  2. 2HTTPS (+25 pts): your site is served over a valid HTTPS connection.
  3. 3AI files — 12.5 pts each (×4 = 50 pts max): llms.txt, ai-profile.json, knowledge.json, services.json. Each file that is published and accessible on your server scores 12.5 pts.
  4. 4Domain verified (+25 pts): you have completed the domain ownership verification step.
  5. 5A score of 100 means full technical readiness. This does not depend on LLM training cycles — it is entirely in your control.
  6. 6The Setup Score updates in real time as you complete each step — no visibility check needed.

Setup Score

Think of the Setup Score as a pre-flight checklist. Get it to 100 first, then focus on improving your LLM Visibility Score.

AI Files

The 4 AI files: what each one does

Each file has a specific role in the language model ecosystem.

  1. 1llms.txt — Inspired by robots.txt, it is the primary reference file. AI crawlers read it first. Contains: business name, description, services, and references to the other files.
  2. 2ai-profile.json — A structured JSON with the complete business profile: name, company type, sector, description, contact details, social networks, and hours.
  3. 3knowledge.json — A question-and-answer knowledge base. Answers the most common questions users might ask an LLM about your business.
  4. 4services.json — A structured catalogue of your services or products with name, description, approximate price, key features, and target audience.
  5. 5All 4 files should be published at the public root of your domain or at /ai/ for crawlers to find them.

AI Files

Downloading and publishing the files

Generated files are downloaded from the Dashboard and manually uploaded to your server.

  1. 1In the Dashboard, open your site card and click "Download files" — you will get a ZIP with all 4 files.
  2. 2Upload llms.txt to the root of your domain: https://your-domain.com/llms.txt
  3. 3Upload the 3 JSON files to the root or /ai/: https://your-domain.com/ai-profile.json
  4. 4Verify in the browser that each URL returns the correct content with HTTP 200.
  5. 5The "Check files" button in the Dashboard confirms which files are detectable by crawlers.
  6. 6See the deployment guide for specific instructions for WordPress, Next.js, Shopify, Webflow, cPanel, and more.
AI Files

Auto Fix: update files with one click

The Auto Fix button automatically applies recommended corrections to the content of your AI files.

  1. 1When the improvement plan detects recommended changes to the AI files (not HTML schemas/metas), the "Auto Fix" button becomes active.
  2. 2Clicking it causes the system to regenerate the files with the improvements applied and update your Dashboard.
  3. 3Download the new ZIP and re-upload the files to your server for the changes to take effect.
  4. 4Auto Fix does not modify your website directly — it only updates the downloadable files in LLMsArchive.
  5. 5For schema and meta tag improvements in your HTML, refer to the improvement plan and apply them manually (or purchase a Setup Service).
Visibility Checks

AI visibility check

Each check analyses how leading AI models perceive your business at that moment in time.

  1. 1The Basic plan includes 1 automatic monthly check. You can launch additional checks from the Dashboard (billed separately).
  2. 2When launched, the system sends queries to leading AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) asking about your sector and business.
  3. 3The check analyses: whether your business appears in relevant responses, the quality of the mention, and whether the AI files are being indexed.
  4. 4Results include: updated score, comparison with the previous check, and new improvement recommendations.
  5. 5Visibility improvements can take weeks or months to reflect — LLMs retrain on their own schedules.

A high score does not guarantee immediate mentions. LLMs depend on their own training cycles, which are external to LLMsArchive.

Improvements

AI improvement plan

A prioritised list of actions to improve your score, generated automatically.

  1. 1The improvement plan appears in the Dashboard below your site card.
  2. 2Each item includes: improvement description, priority (high/medium/low), and the type of change needed.
  3. 3Items marked have already been applied (either via Auto Fix or manually).
  4. 4Items of type "AI file" can be resolved with Auto Fix.
  5. 5Items of type "schema" or "meta tag" require editing your website's HTML.
  6. 6Always start with high priority items — they have the most impact on your score.

JSON-LD Schema suggestions

Schemas are the strongest signal for AI models. Learn what they are and how to implement them.

  1. 1JSON-LD schemas are blocks of structured data in the <head> or <body> of your web pages that search engines and AI models can parse directly.
  2. 2LLMsArchive analyses which schemas your site currently has and suggests which to add or improve (e.g. Organization, Product, FAQPage, Service).
  3. 3Each suggestion includes ready-to-copy JSON-LD code and the specific page where it should be implemented.
  4. 4To implement: add <script type="application/ld+json"> with the JSON inside the indicated page.
  5. 5Validate the result at Schema Markup Validator before deploying.
  6. 6Schemas contribute up to 20 points to the AI score — they are the single largest factor.
Improvements

Meta tag suggestions (og:, twitter:, description)

Meta tags control how LLMs and social networks present your content.

  1. 1Meta tags are <meta> elements in the <head> of your web pages. LLMsArchive analyses the existing ones and suggests any that are missing or incomplete.
  2. 2The most important: og:title, og:description, og:image, twitter:card, and meta name="description".
  3. 3Each suggestion includes the exact HTML (<meta property="…" content="…">) and the page where it should be added.
  4. 4For og:image: use an image of at least 1200×630 px for correct display on social networks.
  5. 5Verify the result with metatags.io to preview how it looks on Google, Facebook, and Twitter.
